Conformal Coatings

Conformal coatings are thin dielectric coatings that extend the longevity of circuit boards by protecting chips and traces from corrosion, shorts and mechanical damage. Loctite offers both Acrylic/Urethane and Silicone Conformal Coatings which are cured via UV, heat or two-part cure mechanisms. APPLICATION
Surface should be free of flux, grease, ionic residue or any other contaminates. Mask board if required. Shake can well before using. Spray board 6-8 inches from surface with even motion. Rotate board and repeat application2-3 times for bestcoverage. Application with PCB in horizontal position recommended for even coating. A coating of 2-3 mils will air dry tack-free within five minutes at72ºF and 40-60% RH Full cure requires 24 hours at 72ºF.

REPAIR
Component replacement may be accomplished by localized desoldering/soldering through the coating and reapplication Cured coatings may be removed by soaking in acetone or methylene chloride

COVERAGE
Coverage is approximately 400 to 500 square inches per can, depending on coating thickness and component profile.

Storage
Products shall be ideally stored in a cool, dry location in unopened containers at a temperature between 8° to 28°C
